Nearest Neighbour Analysis

We describe here, briefly, the nearest neighbour analysis provided in ClustanGraphics. Click Prox/Neighbours and the following dialogue is displayed:

Click OK, and the 10 nearest neighbours whose distance from each case does not exceed 0.25 will be calculated and saved. If a proximity threshold is not specified, then exactly 10 nearest neighbours will be saved; if the number of neighbours is not specified, then all neighbours within a radius of 0.25 will be saved.

Click Constraints to apply the nearest neighbours as contiguity constraints. Click Statistics to save neighbour statistics:

In this example, the label or number of each case, its nearest neighbour and proximity with the nearest neighbour will be saved. Click Display to view or copy these nearest neighbour statistics; or click Output to save the results to a text file.
